What do you consider the best General combinations in Three Kingdoms campaigns?
In Romance mode because, y'know, talkin' about OP General combinations.
My top 4:
- Guo Jia + Any Brilliant Metal General + Sima Yi (or Lu Zhi if you prefer).
3 Brilliants, give Guo Jia 3 Multiple Bolt Crossbows and 3 Trebuchets, give the Metal General 6 Azure Dragons, give Sima Yi the Master of the Hunt title and 6 Horse archers split between poison arrows and fire arrows. Basically unbeatable against anything but the last group on my list and you take no losses unless you don't micro the horsemen well (which should be easy cuz it's the only micro you need to do). The Metal General handles duels and Sima Yi can be swapped for Lu Zhi if you want more damage but less ammo. Fire Arrows on the MBCs or on the Azure Dragons and normal arrows on the other and tada, kill any army before it even reaches you.
- Dian Wei + Xu Chu + Yang Feng
The best "hold the line" group I've found so far. Xu Chou makes your already-tanky heroes get 70% damage resistance, both Dian Wei and Xu Chu get insane damage buffs at low HP, and Yang Feng can heal. They're virtually unkillable and if you just stack 18 Azure Dragons, you fire a bunch as they approach, have the 3 heroes go in and tank until they need to heal, swap in your normal units, then send the Generals back in once they're healed.
- Taishi Ci + Any Brilliant Unique General + Any Brilliant generic General
Give Taishi Ci Huangfu Song's bow, give the generic General Heavenly Sword, Robe of the Omen Maker, and an Imperial Bow so they give the army a 50% boost to firing rate and +10 Melee Evasion, give Taishi Ci a Prime MinisteHeir-level position so your faction gets the +10% Melee Evasion and +10 Ranged Damage buffs, fill Taishi Ci's army with Azure Dragons and the other two with a mix of Onyx Dragons/Horse Archers/MBCs/Trebuchets, and do basically the same thing as the first combination but arguably funnier because Taishi Ci can just snipe the ever-loving hell out their lords as soon as they're in range, and then because he's a Metal General with stupid high Expertise and therefore Melee Evasion, once he runs out of ammo he can just run in with the Azure Dragons and clean up anything that survived (if anyone DID survive by the time they get to him)
- Lu Bu + Cheng Pu + Xu Chu
Probably the dumbest combination in the game: Lu Bu is unbreakable with his weapon, can cause Terror and Scare if you give him the Blood Dragon title, Cheng Pu gives Generals a global +33% Attack Rate/+10% Melee Evasion rate buff, and Xu Chu gives a passive 70% Damage Resistance buff to Generals. Lu Bu can literally wipe entire armies by himself so hilariously well that you don't actually need units (though they help) and can walk around with a "doomstack" that costs zero. Just gotta keep Xu Chu in range of Lu Bu without Xu Chu getting caught fighting something he can't handle, dismount Lu Bu if they have spearmen, and watch him solo everyone. Or throw Cheng Pu and Xu Chu into the fray if you feel like it, since Cheng Pu can easily hit max Expertise and Xu Chu can easily hit max Resolve, so they're both stupidly tanky on their own.
Those're my favorites, but I'm curious what other hilarious combinations other people have come up with so please share if you have any you think are cool. Despite over 500 hours in the game I haven't acquired *every* general yet so I might not know of combinations that're even bigger memes than these.

[Online] [Other] [5 pm-10 pm CST Sundays] Iron Kingdoms Campaign
Welcome to The Port of Deceit also known as The Five Fingers that is located in the Glorious country of Ord. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy anywhere on the Continent. The Five Fingers are named as such from the 5 rivers that run into the ocean. It is ruled in name mostly, by Lord Governor Eilish Doyle but its a open secret that the 4 high captains run the port behind the scenes. Its also rumored that the King Baird Cathor 2nd also known as the Bandit King, willingly turns a blind eye to the Fingers as long as the 4 High Captains pay there special monthly "taxes". Either by Greasing the Wheels or from recommendation or extortion the party has acquired a Mercenary Charter. The Glorious Country of Ord relies heavily on mercenaries to supplement there armies against stronger military forces which the country is all but surrounded. They have a long and proud history of paying other people to fight wars for them. So there are many laws and responsibilities that come with having a mercenary charter as well as some privileges. Will the Party Find Gold and Glory or will they like many newly found mercenary companies go belly up and become fish food in this city of thieves? currently 2 spots open privite message me for more info
