Post-Platinum analysis - Shotguns
After 3 days of grinding away my sanity on Shoothouse 24/7, I have unlocked Platinum camo for my shotguns. This averages a little less than 600 kills per shotgun, considering my most used weapon is the Origin at 623 kills. I won't necessarily be discussing in-depth attachment combinations for each weapon, but moreso a baseline analysis on quality what attachments benefit them the best, and totally-not-egregious numerical score, as well as what I would like to see changed. MODEL 680
This cannot be a pump-action shotgun. It deals less damage than the Spas from BO1. The only positive aspect I can tell from it is the fact that it has the overall range of the pre-patch Models from MW2. It has the worst combination of mediocre handling AND damage potential. Due to its generally poor damage per pellet, you would need to stack attachments that reduce spread and increase range. At the same time, these attachments will worsen its already poor handling, making it more of a weapon for turret play-styles. There is no way to improve its slow pump speed, rendering handling attachments far less desirable. Who the actual fuck wants an attachment that increases spread on a shotgun?

What I would change
- Increase all of its base damage ranges by 1-2 meters (except its maximum range)
- Increase base ADS speed by 1-2 frames
- Tighten ADS spread by ~15% OR increase Rate of Fire by 10%
This is everything that the 680 should be AND it fires 2 shots before pumping. It has amongst the best sprint-out times for the shotgun category, it has better damage over range than the 680, and it sounds cool as shit to shoot. One thing to note is that its ADS bonus is rather extreme given the fact that it is a double-barrelled shotgun. The pump is also much faster than that of the 680 especially considering the nature of loading two shells at once. im no gun buff, but it doesnt seem fair to make the R9-0 better stats in all categories. There should be some form of checks and balances beyond forcing a player to make sure they fire both barrels before reloading.

What I would change
- Reduce base ADS speed by 2 frames OR increase base ADS spread by 20%
It's a boomstick. The gun only fires two shots before reloading, but those shots are loaded with thallium. Like the 680, it boasts range that equals the Models from MW2, but this time it actually deals MW2 damage. I understand many complaints are derived from the fact that Overkill has no competition in its perk tier, but that shouldn't make us ignore the fact that the people using it accidentally get collats with it. It doesn't help that Infinity Ward is "nerfing" it by buffing its one-shot kill potential.

What I would change
- Reduce fire rate to 150rpm OR increase ADS spread to its pre-buff value.
- Overhaul its damage so it deals 25 damage per pellet at close range and 20 damage per pellet at its other ranges (4-5 pellet kill). This will make the shotgun more of an accuracy-focused weapon.
This weapon is awful. A semi-auto shotgun that shoots this slowly should be dealing somewhat decent damage, but that isnt the case here. The Origin is a reliable 3-5 shot kill at range, meaning it could easily a whole second to kill your enemies. If you're not running Stopping Power for this shotgun, you are all kinds of fucked up. I can only see two options for how this weapon could be made decent while retaining its niche status as the "spam" shotgun.

What I would change
- Increase base mag size to 10. Change 12 round mag to 14 round mag. Change 8 slug mag to 10 slug mag.
- Increase RoF to 300rpm OR reduce base spread by 10-15%

Before you start to play read this
So, Mushroom wars 2, i guess like me many of you when first saw this game wondered, how come such a well made game with such amazing mechanics its so niche and so little known?
Well the reason is simple the game has one of the worst monetization i ever witnessed in a very well made game. And we are not talking of microtransaction, the devs are hungry for money and at every turn there is a very very pricey offer awaiting you.
Don t get me wrong i m not a f2p player, I often throw some cash into games to speed up times and enjoy them a bit faster (expecially on mobile) but mw2 will ask you for either be a D- level player for months while you grind your gold up or use your whole life to play this game or, the devs favourite, you can grab the wallet and start spending as everithing cost either a lifetime to get or something like 10 euro per item. Just to make an example, in game events require you to play 24/7 for 4 weeks to complete them and 20 euro to get the top prizes but if you have a life, the price to complete an event is approx 40/50 euro and don t think that with the initial 20 you get anything, the first 20 are just to join the premium rewards so no bonus or anything.
And this is not it, the game at every turn tryes to find way to make you spend money such as putting a soft cap to the way you can find token for your heroes, not letting you find artifact of a certain rarity without foundamentally paying and in general if you don t want to spend you ll be for months totally and absolutely no competitive as.... they introduced an amazing series of passive bonuses that are not just small bonuses but are actually quite huge (expecially from tier 3 up) and that will literally make the difference between you and the other players, except, if you spend maybe 50 euro and buy some gold... ah no wsit, even if you do you ll enjoy just maybe a couple week then you ll meet people yhat play since 4 years or that spent 100 instead of 50 sooooo you know how it is, time to flash the card...
And don't believe if people tell you: " i just doenloaded its very fun and you can play for free" because simply they didn t hit yet the paywall. "But theres no paywall Fakedog what the hell" well let.me.explain: The basic mode of the game is multiplayer ranked (considering that the singleplayer si there just so you give 20 euro to the devs for NOTHING as the rewards of a full campaign are the equivalent of a week of daily quest). So everytime you play you ll get ranks, as in every game the first few tiers are populated by brainless noobs and maybe some bot that will let you feel like a champ and as you can play this game for free. But inevitably your rank will go up pretty fast and already from gold ( rank 1600 - 3000) you ll start be matched with people that have artifacts and all the skills pumped. Here is where the soft paywall starts to kick in, you won t be able to play at the same level if you are not lucky enough to drop the right items for your favourite hero but lets say that if you play for fun maybe withing a week or 2 you ll have them but here is where the game gets to the worst point. Going up from diamond rank (3000 - 10000) people will have their passive abilities at high tiers and you playing free to play will barely have managed to get the coin to get to tier 3, and this considering you play a lot and win a lot. If thats not the case, well i hope you like to loose because i can cast skills 2 times faster than you and my minion are 7 % stronger than yours so you basically have no chance. No matter how you look at it sooner or later you ll stumble into people with which there will be an abyss of difference passive skills wise and if these people also happen to have legendary items ( items that you can get only through very very pricey events) you foundamentally are in no postion to win.
To wrap this up, this is an amazing game worth of eaports and its an incredible well made game from thebpoint of view of the mechanics but will never get biral or something big thanks to the absurd monetization. I guess the devs really needs money as this game is just a funnel to get your money.... bummer lets just hope tencent or garena find out about this and make a nice clone.
